Don’t miss the deadline to apply for College of Education scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year.
The College of Education scholarship application has been available since November on the College of Education homepage (www.towson.edu/coe), Announcements panel on the right side. To be eligible to apply, you must be enrolled in a program in the College of Education (undergraduate, graduate or doctoral; full-time or part-time). (If you are an entering freshman or transfer student, you must have been formally admitted to the University for the fall 2015 semester and have a TU ID number.)
At the end of the Campus Labs application, you will be notified that an essay and resume, which should include volunteer and community service, as well as any involvement in professional organizations, must be submitted by 4:00 p.m., on January 30, 2015, and one letter of reference due by February 13, to complete your scholarship application. The essay is to explain “Which of your past professors or teachers most influenced your desire to become a professional educator?” The quality of your writing and the depth of your explanation are paramount. The essay is to be typed, double-spaced, 300 words, and sent electronically to coescholarships@towson.edu.
We encourage applicants to complete a FAFSA form for 2015-16 in January (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) since the criteria for many scholarships include financial need.
