Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Towson University, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will be hosting blood drives throughout the year to help with the critical shortage in our area. The Red Cross will be accepting both whole blood and double red blood cell donations. Donors must be at least 17 years old, and weigh at least 110 pounds. There are different requirements in order to donate double red cells, which can be found on the Red Cross website.
TheOffice of Civic Engagement & Leadership and the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life are now coordinating the Towson University’s Blood Drives. These on campus blood drives provide a convenient opportunity for Towson University’s students, faculty, and staff to help those in need. However, for those dates do not work for you, please contact your local Red Cross branch or visit the American Red Cross Blood Donation.
