As we prepare for the fall 2014 term, there will be increased pedestrian traffic near and around the residence halls as students move in. Please use caution when you are in these areas. Please also be aware that lot 17 outside of Enrollment Services will be closed until Monday August 25 to accommodate lot work and move-in.
Please abide by the guidelines below for Fall Move In:
Official Move-In Days – Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24 – 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
-Parking permits are NOT required on these days.
-On these days, the University will arrange to allow students close access to housing locations in order to unload.
-Please follow the direction of posted signs and staff in order to access unloading locations.
-Once directed to an unloading area by posted staff, please immediately unload your items to the grass and sidewalk areas. Do not leave your vehicle unattended – A driver must remain with the vehicle at all times while unloading.
-As soon as your belongings are unloaded from the vehicle, please move your vehicle to a designated parking area in the garages. Housing staff will be on site with carts to assist you with moving your items to your room.
-If you arrive outside of the above posted times, please follow the directions outlined below under “Unofficial Move-In Days”
Unofficial Move-In Days:
If you are moving in any days other than the official move-in days on August 23 and August 24, please ensure you follow the guidelines below:
-During Fall Move-In, designated “Move-In” spaces will be located near each residence hall.
-Vehicles may only be parked in “Move-In” spaces for a maximum of 30 minutes. A permit is not required while parked in a “Move-In” space. However, once vehicles are unloaded, vehicles must be moved to a legal commuter, overflow, resident or visitor space based on the individual’s parking permit type.
-If you do not have a valid parking permit, you must either purchase a student permit online here or purchase a “Visitor” permit from a pay station for the timeframe your vehicle will not be parked in designated “Move-In” parking spaces.
-All vehicles must be parked in a legal space.
-At no time may any vehicle be parked in fire lanes, in a roadway, on sidewalks, on grass, or otherwise reserved space, even for a few minutes.
-Only vehicles displaying state issued handicapped license plates or permits may be parked in handicapped spaces.
For the safety of our campus community, illegally parked vehicles may be cited and towed at the owner’s expense. For additional information and shuttle schedule, please visit the Parking & Transportation Services’ website or call the office at 410-704-PARK.
