Topic: Parent Advocacy: Evolving the Parent-Child Relationship for Future Success

How can the role of the parent change over time to help support people on the spectrum for future success? What are important parent‐driven activities that can empower young people with autism? What do adults on the spectrum find helpful and harmful in relationships with others? These important questions will be explored in this presentation and facilitated community conversation about the role of parents in the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum. Participants will learn about actions they can take right away that will support the growth and development of individuals on the spectrum.
