Did you know that February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month? 1 in 3 young adults will be in an abusive relationship before the age of 22. Dating and relationship violence often starts with possessiveness, jealousy, put downs and other controlling behaviors which sometimes lead to physical violence. That’s why the Towson University Police Department has teamed up with the House Of Ruth Maryland to collect new items for victims of domestic abuse who seek shelter at the House Of Ruth. The House of Ruth Maryland is one of the nation’s leading intimate partner violence centers, helping thousands of battered women and their children find the safety and security that so many of us take for granted.
During the month of February 2014, there will two collection sites on Towson University’s campus for donations, University Union- Second Floor, and the Administration Building- First Floor.
