Campus access during winter break

During winter break, December 23, 2013 through January 1, 2014, university buildings will not be opened by the university police. Faculty and staff wishing to access buildings or offices during this time will need to provide their own means of entry, either with their OneCard or a conventional key. If you would like to access campus during this time and do not already have “after-hours” access via your one card or conventional key, you must complete an Access Request form and route it through your departmental key coordinator per normal procedures. Access will only be allowed between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. for non-essential personnel. Only essential personnel are allowed on campus on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Anyone who will be on campus during this time MUST carry their OneCard for identification purposes.

Any exceptions for students or other programming will require the approval of the appropriate vice president, who will forward their limited access list to Bernie Gerst in the Office of Public Safety by December 20.

Building temperatures are lowered and custodial services are minimized throughout winter break. Anyone planning to be on campus at these times should make appropriate accommodations.

These prohibitions do not apply to Residence Life Coordinators or international students in their assigned residence hall.
