In celebration of Black History Month 2014, the Center for Student Diversity is proud to announce its first annual Black History Month Art Competition. To launch this new and exciting initiative, CSD will be hosting a kickoff event this Wednesday, October 16 at 6 p.m. in the University Union’s Susquehanna Terrace. Refreshments will be served.
To enter participants must submit an original work of art that focuses on an aspect of the black experience in America and encompasses the 2014 Black History Month theme, “Transforming Our Future by Honoring Our Past.” This competition is open to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, major or class standing.
The top three entries will have their work displayed in the Center for Student Diversity during Black History Month, be recognized at a special ceremony, and receive a gift certificate to the University Bookstore ($50-3rd place, $100-2nd place, and $200-1st place). The first place entry will be featured on the 2014 Black History Month poster.
Entries must be submitted to the Center for Student Diversity by 5 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013. For contest guidelines, come out to our kickoff event or visit our website at www.towson.edu/diversity.
