An Evening of Islamic Art and Culture at the Walters Art Museum

Thursday, November 14th, 5pm-8:30pm

mjThe evening begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Walters Islamic art collection at 5pm. This will be followed at 6:30pm by a showing of Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World, a documentary that explores the stories behind great masterworks of Islamic Art and Architecture, and concludes with a panel discussion including Towson faculty members Dr. Kimberly Katz, Dr. Robert Tappan, and Dr. Sanaullah Kirmani.

Space for the behind-the-scenes tour is limited to 25 people and preference will be given to students. Transportation for students will be provided with details being provided after the sign-ups for this event are complete.

This event is part of Towson University Albert S. Cook Library’s Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys programming. Muslim Journeys is presented by National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with American Library Association Public Programs Office and Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies, George Mason University.
