Access to the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research

Towson University is a member institution of the Inter- University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR).   The ICPSR data archive contains over 500,000 research data files on topics in the social sciences.  Students, faculty and staff of Towson University can download any of these files to use in their own research.  Most of the data files are in SPSS or SAS format.  In addition to the data archive, ICPSR provides teaching modules on quantitative social research that can be downloaded and integrated into your courses.  ICPSR also offers professional instruction on quantitative research methods in short 3-5 day workshops or longer four week courses for graduate students and faculty.  These courses are offered throughout the summer at the ICPSR facilities at the University of Michigan.

Please see the Towson University ICPSR research resources website for more information on this valuable research tool or contact James Roberts, TU’s ICPSR Official Representative, in the Department of Political Science, at 410-704-3510.
