PASSAGE FROM INDIA: WORKS BY SIONA BENJAMIN AND MAUREEN DRDAK

Siona Benjamin and Maureen Drdak are global artists and 2011 Fulbright scholars. Benjamin’s exhibition, Blue Like Me, features a mosaic work inspired by both Indian miniature paintings and Sephardic icons that reflect her Indian and Jewish backgrounds. Drdak’s exhibition, The Flying Nagas, inspired by the Himalayas, incorporates the first synthesis of ancient repoussé metalwork of Nepal and contemporary painting.
