During the week of March 17 – 23, Towson recycled 17,360 pounds or 14% of its waste. This puts us in 217th place out of 269 schools. No data is available on residence halls because of Spring Break. Towson’s single stream recycling system accepts all paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and containers, aluminum and steel cans in the blue indoor recycling bins or the green outdoor ones. Here are some things you can do to improve recycling:
- Familiarize yourself with TU’s recycling guidelines and recycle everything! Don’t forget your toiletries, food containers, and electronics!
- Share the contest results with your friends. Encourage them to participate. The winning residence hall gets a cash prize! If you have Facebook, go on our Facebook page.
- Put trash and recycling bins next to each other when you see them separated.
- When you eat or drink with your friends, remind them to recycle their cups and containers.
