Site and Safety Phase II – The design for Site and Safety Phase II is complete. Bids were received for GMP 1 and are on the BPW agenda for March 20, 2013. Bids have been received for GMP 2 and that contract will go to BPW in April. That work will include installing underground conduit so that the existing overhead BGE cables can be removed and relocated underground. Construction of the proposed signalized intersection at Emerson
Drive is scheduled for summer 2013. Construction of the new bridge over Osler Drive will begin in fall 2013. Detour, way-finding and rendering signs are being prepared for installation at key points affected by construction.
Tiger Arena – Exterior window systems and wall panels are complete. Construction on the north stairs, promenade and final grading is continuing on schedule. Mechanical systems are now functioning. Interior finishes in multiple trades continue. The new wood floor has been installed. Retractable seating is being assembled. The center hung scoreboard and perimeter ribbon boards have been installed. Renovations to the Towson Center basement are ongoing with Phase 1 scheduled for completion in mid-March and Phase 2 to begin at that time. The arena project is scheduled to be completed early in spring 2013.
Ward and West Halls – Underground utility work including the new steam
and chilled water connections are complete. Installation of new walls is ongoing with electrical, mechanical and plumbing trades progressing. Underpinning for the addition is complete and foundations have begun.
Newell/Richmond Halls –Interior finishes continue in Richmond Hall. The plaza
work on the west side of Newell Hall continues and is expected to be complete in about three weeks.
