Jane Elliot (a former elementary school teacher in Iowa) originated the “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Experiment” on the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968 to illustrate to her elementary school students how harmful the myth of White superiority is and to demonstrate the impact that this myth has had on what it means to be a Black in the USA.
She will be providing a program open to the community at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 7, 2005 in the University Union Chesapeake Rooms.
