Religious Observance Ramadhan

Please be advised that Muslim students will be observing the end of the Muslim holy period of fasting called Ramadhan with the holy day of Eid al Fitr. Depending on the particular Muslim group, observance may occur on either October 23 or October 24.

Eid al Fitr is a day of prayer and fasting and in accordance with the University System of Maryland and Towson University?s policies pertaining to religious observances, students may be excused from attending class. Faculty are also asked to avoid giving quizzes or exams on these two days. If this is not feasible, arrangements should be made to administer any missed assignments or examinations at a later date.

Faculty who will be observing Eid al Fitr should inform their chairperson and students of this observance from class, and arrange for out-of-class or library assignments.

Staff members observing this holy day should notify their immediate supervisor.

Faculty who have questions regarding student observance-absences should contact Bill Reuling at 704-4632. Students should contact Terri Hall at 704-2332 or Art King at 4-2051. Staff should contact Dave Curtis at 4-6018.

Thank you for your cooperation.
