Expert from TTX Company to speak about Applied Economics and the Art of Forecasting at Towson University
Towson University?s department of economics will host ?Applied Economics and the Art of Forecasting? on Friday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. in Stephens Hall, Room 226. The lecture will feature Patrick J. Casey, assistant vice president of forecasting and planning for TTX Company, a provider of railcar and related freight car management services and owner of a fleet with more than 200,000 railcars.
Casey?s responsibilities include economic forecasting and analysis, rail volume forecasts, fleet utilization forecasts, fleet sizing, and market research. Beginning his career in transportation with Chessie System Railroads in 1983, Casey worked for Chessie System Railroads and its successor, CSX Corporation, for 17 years before joining TTX Company in May 2000. Prior to his career in transportation, Casey worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., Baltimore News American, and the Council on Economic Education in Maryland, which is currently housed at Towson University.
Casey is a member of the National Association for Business Economics, the Intermodal Association of North America, the Chicago Association for Business Economics, the Intermodal Association of Chicago and the Midwest Foreign Commerce Club. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, summa cum laude, from Towson University and a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Delaware.
