Dean of the College of Business and Economics Named as One of Maryland?s Top 100 Women

The College of Business and Economics (CBE) dean, Dr. Shohreh A. Kaynama, is named one of the 2005 Maryland?s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record. A reception will be held on May 18 at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore to honor Kaynama.

Joining Kaynama on the top 100 list are Ellen R. Fish, member of the CBE advisory board and senior vice president of commercial banking at Provident Bank; Senator Verna Lynn Jones of the Maryland General Assembly; Dr. Janet Dudley-Esbach, president of Salisbury University; Marielsa A. Bernard, judge for the Circuit Court for Montgomery County; Mary Ann Scully, chairman, president & CEO of Howard Bank; and, Jennifer Anne Regan, president & CEO of Key Technologies, Inc.

Maryland?s Top 100 Women was established in 1996 by The Daily Record to recognize the outstanding achievements of professional women who reside or work in Maryland and provide significant contributions to the community. Maryland?s Top 100 was also created to offer the business community with a resource for selecting candidates to fill a management position or corporate board seat.

Kaynama, a TU grad, is active in program development, faculty mentoring, and scholarly research. She is one of two founders of an interdisciplinary graduate program in Communications Management and is the founder of the e-Business major at the undergraduate level in the CBE. Throughout her 21 years of service at TU, Kaynama has notable high standards of excellence, passion for her profession, and a level of optimism and enthusiasm that are admirable. Kaynama?s areas of interest in research include services marketing, e-Commerce/e-Business solutions, business ethics, and applications of information technology and decision support systems in marketing.
