Computerized business gaming simulations is a laboratory method of increasing popularity that is useful in both teaching and research. Highlighting the state of the art, the presentation will show how the method simplifies the assessment of learning, accommodates the engagement of students in research, adapts to distance education, and serves to clarify fundamental issues in business and economics.

Precha Thavikulwat, professor of Management, is a CIAT Technology Fellow, past president of the Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning, and an associate editor of Simulation & Gaming: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Theory, Practice, and Research. He is co-editing a special issue of the journal on internet- and computer-mediated simulation and gaming.
