Smith Hall, Room 356
8:30 am – 1:00 pm

The Towson University Women in Science Program (WISP) invites everyone to attend the 7th annual Women in Science Forum on March 5th 2005!
Each year, WISP brings in speakers to address current issues in science and celebrate the achievements of women in science, engineering, and mathematics (SEM). Another purpose of the forum is to offer encouragement and present opportunities to women students at all stages of their careers in SEM. Additionally, it is important for students to see women in leadership roles, especially in government and industry where increasing numbers of women serve as top decision-makers and managers.

This year, we are honored to have three speakers:
Dr. Lauren Schnaper, Director, Greater Baltimore Medical Center Comprehensive Breast Care Center: ?Breast Cancer: Myth and Reality?
Ms. Barbara Watson, Head Meteorologist, National Weather Service (Binghamton, NY Office): “Wild About Weather”
Dr. Jane Peterson, Program Director, National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health: ?A Career in Genomics?

The forum is open to anyone who wants to come. We especially encourage students- (secondary, undergraduate, and graduate students) K-12 teachers, guidance counselors, and mathematics and science faculty and staff of Towson University and other local colleges and universities to attend.

There is no registration fee, and breakfast and lunch is provided (free of charge!), but we do ask everyone to register by February 25th, 2005. Registration form is online, here: {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/wisp/events.htm}

Please join us on March 5!
