Cultural Excursion: Historic Chestertown
Saturday, November 6, 9 am – 6:30 pm
Getaway with the members and friends of the Asian Arts & Culture Center into the fleeting colors of the fall foliage and the charms of the historic Chestertown on Maryland?s Eastern Shore. Learn the art of flower arranging with a visit to the studio of Seiko Behr, an Ikebana master and potter using the Japanese methods. Highlights of this day trip also include a guided tour of the Historical Society of Kent County with emphasis on the teapot collection and discussion of the art of porcelain, and a visit of a private collection of Asian art. There is free time to enjoy Chestertown?s annual Downrigging Weekend featuring historic houses and visiting the schooner Sultana and tall ships Pride of Baltimore II and Lady Maryland.
Fee: $45 Asian Arts & Culture Center member; $55 non-member; $35 TU students with ID.
