Dr. Norman Dean and the Physics, Astronomy & Geosciences Department will be presenting a planetarium show in the Watson-King Planetarium, Smith Hall, Room 521 on Friday, October 15th starting at 7:30 p.m.
The show is titled “Columbus Had No GPS”. What stars guided Columbus?
How did he determine his latitude? Why did he have such a gross error in his position? How do the sun, moon, and stars help us to determine location?
There will be telescope viewing, weather permitting.
