The College of Health Professions sponsors a Stroke Survivor?s Support Group for stroke survivors and caregivers. The group meets each month during the Fall and Spring semesters with one Summer event hosted. This is a lively group of individuals who share their thoughts and feelings and learn a lot from each other about living with stroke. The group is lead by faculty from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing. Students from these programs participate as well and often lead the group in activities geared towards learning to live life with a stroke. Outside speakers are often invited to keep the participants abreast of the latest local resources and developments in stroke rehabilitation.
If you know of anyone who would benefit from attending the support group, please pass on this information!
