Dr. Ronn Pineo, Professor of History at Towson University, will present his sabbatical research project regarding the human implications of the rise of cigarette smoking in Latin America. Drawn from his research in the medical archives of Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, Dr. Pineo?s work explores the transformation of the Latin American tobacco industry, the spread of the cigarette habit, and the dire health implications for the people in the region.

This lecture is open to Osher members and Towson University faculty/staff/students.
