Tutors Needed for Summer & Fall

The Academic Achievement Center is seeking great students to be peer tutors in a variety of Liberal Arts disciplines. As you meet with your advisees please keep our center?s needs in mind.

We hope to hire excellent students who have done very well in a number of introductory courses in Liberal Arts. We get a variety of requests in various disciplines. Therefore, we hope to recruit students who are well-rounded and with a proven track record with Liberal Arts coursework.

Most of our requests are for help in 100 & 200 level courses. Tutors must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and at least a B+ in any course in which they serve as a tutor.

The AAC has a tutor training program certified by the College Reading & Learning Association. Our tutors must participate in a paid training program that includes 10 hours of instructional academic support techniques. Summer tutors earn $10.50/ hour and must be available to work at least 5 hours/week. As part of the application process, prospective tutors must provide to our center two letters of recommendation from Towson faculty members who have taught them. If you are interested or know of any potential tutors, please contact us ASAP. Thank you for your consideration.
