The Mitten Professorship in the College of Liberal Arts invite students and faculty to attend a lecture by Dr. Maochun Yu. The topic will be ?China?s Military Modernization and Its Limitations? and will be given in the Liberal Arts room 3110 on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 7:00 ? 9:00 pm.
Dr. Maochun Yu is a Professor of East Asia and Military History at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Yu holds a Doctoral Degree from Swarthmore College and a Bachelors Degree from Nankai University. He is the author of ?The Dragon?s War: Allied Operations and the Fate of China, 1937-1947? (Naval Institute Press, 2006), ?OSS in China-Prelude to Cold War? (Yale University Press, 1997) and numerous articles and edited volumes on modern China, military/naval history and the intelligence history of World War II and the Cold War.
