How Pornography Has Hijacked Our Sexuality

Please join the Women?s & Gender Studies Department and The Center for Student Diversity on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in Towson University?s Chesapeake Rooms for a tantalizing lecture by Gail Dines, Ph. D. on ?Pornland: How Pornography Has Hijacked our Sexuality? at 3:30pm. Once marginalized, pornography has now become a central part of our cultural landscape, with its idealized, mass-produced images of women, men and sex seeping into our identities, body images, and relationships. In this powerful multi-media presentation, Dr. Gail Dines explores how gender is shaped by a consumer-driven culture, and the ways the public images we consume spill over into our most private worlds.

Dr Gail Dines is a Professor of Sociology & Women?s Studies at Wheelock College in Boston and an internationally acclaimed speaker, author and feminist activist.
