Keynote Event: The Best Practices Approach to Fair Use

Join Provost Marcia Welsh at the keynote event for ?U@TU: Copyright Understanding at Towson University, a copyright and fair use awareness campaign sponsored by Academic Affairs and Cook Library.
Patricia Aufderheide (Professor in the School of Communication at American University and director of The Center for Social Media) and Peter Jaszi (Professor of Law at AU’s Washington College of Law) will discuss their efforts to develop codes of best practices in fair use (see {http://www.centerforsocialmedia.org/fair-use/best-practices}) and how these codes might inform teaching and scholarly activities at TU.
A panel discussion moderated by CLA Dean Terry Cooney and featuring TU faculty members Sam Collins, Matthew Durington, Jay Herzog, and J. Susan Isaacs will follow the keynote speakers, and audience Q&A will conclude the event.
