Message from: Charlotte Exner, Dean, College of Health Professions
It is with great sadness that I share with you the loss of one of our full-time faculty members in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science. Dr. Andrea Sherwin, Assistant Professor, passed away Thursday September 30 after an illness of about six months. She had just entered the fourth year of her position here at Towson University and was a highly valued and well-respected member of the Department, the College, and the University community. Her smile, energy, and commitment to occupational therapy students and advocacy for children and families coping with the challenges of disability will surely be missed by all. In addition to her many important roles in the Department of Occupational Therapy & Occupational Science, she served on the College Case Study Committee and, in keeping with her expertise in technology, she served as the CHP representative to the University Information and Instructional Technology Committee.
Andrea?s family is planning a service for her at Sol Levinson funeral home in Reisterstown on Sunday at 3 pm. Please visit their website for specific information. {http://www.sollevinson.com/daily_services_dfs.php} Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Andrea?s parents, Susan and Martin Sherwin, 2204 Decatur Place, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20008. We also will be planning other ways to remember Andrea?s many contributions to Towson University and particularly the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science and will keep you informed of these plans.
This is an incredible loss for the Department of OTOS?including our OTOS students?the College of Health Professions and the University community. My sincere condolences to those who knew and worked with Andrea.
