The Center for Amplification, Rehabilitation and Listening (CARL) at Towson University is conducting research examining how first time users of amplification adjust to their hearing aids
Participants must:
? never have tried hearing aids
? be at least 18 years of age with sensorineural hearing loss in both ears
? be a native English speaker
? have the cognitive skills and endurance to complete all testing
? have sufficient literacy to complete all test instruments
? be motivated to wear behind-the-ear hearing aids
? have no other significant medical problems (such as stroke, paresis or aphasia)
? be able to attend all testing sessions
Participants who qualify will:
? receive a free hearing evaluation,
? receive free use of premium digital hearing aids during the study
? be able to purchase the hearing aids at the conclusion of the study at approximately 25% of the retail price.
