WORDS, SOUNDS, STORIES: New York Times notable book author, Philipp Meyer, visits Towson University

The Towson Literary Reading Series continues Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. in Linthicum Hall room 200 when novelist Philipp Meyer reads from his highly regarded novel, AMERICAN RUST. Set in an economically devastated Pennsylvania steel town, American Rust tells the story of two young men, bound to the town by family, responsibility, inertia, and a murder, who dream of a future beyond the factories and abandoned homes.

Philipp Meyer grew up in Hampden and he attended a class or two at Towson University. From there he attended Columbia University and Cornell. American Rust, his first novel, was named a top ten book of 2009 by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Economist magazine and will be available for sale from the bookstore at the reading. This reading is co-sponsored by the Provost?s Budget Office. For more information on Philipp Meyer, visit {http://www.philippmeyer.net/}
