16th Annual Multicultural Conference

Intersecting Identities
Each of us possesses identities that shape our lives in profound ways, and these identities influence how we are thought of and treated by others and by society at large. Our identities with regard to age, gender, race, sexual orientation, disability status, and religion influence our place in the social hierarchy; more importantly, these identities intersect with each other and should be considered, studied, and discussed in terms of their intersection. This year?s conference revolves around Intersecting Identities and how these operate in the service of some individuals and at the expense of others. We invite submissions which speak to, investigate, or express the existing manner in which intersecting identities contribute to social inequalities and submissions which investigate or express such values as social equity and fairness as attainable, long-term goals. We invite submissions on this theme or other topics related to the larger goals of the annual Multicultural Conference.
Dr. Patricia Hill Collins will be the keynote speaker for this Conference.
