Ali & Nino, a pair of names as familiar in the Caucasus as Romeo and Juliet in the West, is a tragic love story set during the chaos of early 20th Century Baku, Azerbaijan, as the Russian Empire expanded and occupied the Caucasus.
Guest Playwright Ned Bobkoff has adapted for the first time this story for the stage, and in collaboration with Towson University?s Professor of Theater, David White and students from the College of Performing Arts, brings an evening theatrical performance and discussion.
This theatrical event celebrating the Caucasus complements the 6th Annual College of Liberal Arts Foreign ?Film Series: Following the Silk Road and will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 7:00 pm in Lecture Hall 238.
