How Far Away is the Edge of the Universe?

The final program in the Saturday Morning Science spring series sponsored by the Hackerman Academy of Mathematics and Science will take place on Saturday May 3, 2008. “Intergalactic Tour of the Universe: A Real Hitchhiker’s Guide” will be presented by Brian Eney of Towson University and a member of NASA’s Night Sky Network. The program will explain just how big our Solar System, the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Universe are in easy to understand terms. The tour will begin in low Earth orbit and will continue to the edge of the known Universe. Demonstrations will include making a simulated comet nucleus and other cosmic surprises!

This program will take place in Smith Hall room 326. The program is free and open to the public and starts at 10:00 am and runs until about 11:30 am. The program will be repeated at 12:00 noon. For questions call 410-704-3659 or email us at {HackermanAcademy@towson.edu}.

We look forward to seeing you there!
