Tony and Helen Hayes Award Winning Actors join Towson faculty, students, and alum in the fight against AIDS for “The Normal Heart” AIDS awareness event.

The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore, Queer Student Union, Department of Theatre Arts, and The Dowell Health Center join to present an evening of outreach and theatre.
One fourth of all HIV infections occur in people under age 21. Experts estimate that only 11 percent of HIV-positive youth in the United States receive adequate health care: most HIV-infected youth are asymptomatic, do not know they are infected, and are not enrolled in treatment. *From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services January 2005 Report.
This is the reality of AIDS. Why then, is the new generation of sexually active Americans so disconnected from this issue? On December 8, The Normal Heart: An HIV/AIDS Awareness Event will bring the reality of AIDS to this new generation, while reminding those who lived in the shadow of the plague that it is not over.
