For the past two holiday seasons, the Towson University Police Department has been working with St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore to collect new or gently used blankets or sheets for the homeless. St. Vincent de Paul is a leading provider of community services to people suffering from the effects of hunger, homelessness and poverty in Baltimore.
The organization will accept any size blanket or sheet. However, they especially need twin size blankets for Sarah’s Hope, their 24-hour emergency shelter and provider of other support services for homeless women and children.
Let’s give back. Can you imagine what a blanket or sheet could do for people or families who are literally out in the cold?
You can donate blankets to “Santa’s Workshop” on Union 200F, every weekday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., until December 20. For more information, please contact Corporal Kia Williams at x4-5622.
The TUPD wishes safe and happy holidays to all!
