Do the little things and save electricity!

Did you know that your TV, phone chargers and appliances use electricity even when they are turned off? Phantom power accounts for as much as 10 percent of electricity use in a typical home. Make sure you do the following in your dorm or office before you leave for the holiday:

Shut down computers, monitors and printers
Unplug cell phones chargers, coffee makers, TVs, hairdryers, stereos and other electrical devices from the wall
Plug electrical devices into a power adapter and turn off the adapter when you leave for the day
Turn off the lights
–And for safety, lock doors and windows
