Save the date for Asian Arts & Culture Center?s Many Moons Festival 2010 on Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Back by popular demand, the 5th Many Moons Festival engages the community in the richness and diversity of Asian cultures and delights all ages. Come and enjoy colorful performances by talented dancers and musicians, sample authentic cuisines, and browse though the Crossroads Marketplace to find the perfect gifts, all under one roof!
Festival Activities Include:
? Stage Performances–featuring the music and dance of India, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East, puppet theatre and Chinese opera.
? Demonstrations ? the art of Geisha; puppetry; application of Chinese Opera make-up
? Arts and Crafts Making ? paper making and cutting, origami, bead craft, doll making, dough figurines, silk rope knotting, fruit cutting, kite-making, and more!
? Film Series ? screenings of short films from the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.
? Crossroads Marketplace ? featuring arts and crafts displays and sales from Japan, China, India, Tibet, and Thailand, book and CD sales and special interests, including alternative medicine, natural healing, yoga, as well as delicious Asian cuisines.
? Dancers Showcase ? featuring dance of Hawaii, Malaysia, Middle East
? Martial Arts Showcases ? Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Japanese.
? Gallery Exhibition ? Interconnected: New Works by Yuriko Yamaguchi
? The Spirit of Sharing – As a community service, ten non-profit organizations are invited to set up tables and share information about their mission and services to the community
Tickets: $15 in advance and $20 at the door; $5 Students and children in advance and $10 at the door; $10 Asian Art & Culture Center Members in advance and $15 at the door; TU students with valid ID free in advance, $2 at door. Group rates are available.
