?Looking for Asia in all the Wrong Places: How Ten U.S. States found Asia?

The College of Liberal Arts is proud to sponsor the Mitten Professorship Lecture Series. This year the College is excited to present Dr. Peggy Spitzer Christoff, who is a researcher, teacher, and program administrator with specialties in U.S.-China relations and women?s history. Dr Christoff will speak on ?Looking for Asia in all the Wrong Places: How Ten U.S. States found Asia? from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in room 4110 of the new Liberal Arts Building.

Dr. Christoff has developed programs for the East-West Center, Library of Congress, and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; and is the author of Tracking the Yellow Peril: The INS and Chinese Immigrants in the Midwest. Her current research deals with women?s roles in US-Asia relations under two projects, ?Speaking About China: Olive Wakefield Lindsay as Missionary and Public Orator? and ?Precursors, Progressives, and Challengers: Women in America?s Relationship with Asia, 1820-1960?.
