WTMD, along with the Downtown Partnership, City Paper, Agora, Tremont Suites and the Brewer?s Art, invites the entire TU community to enjoy a free First Thursday Concert on October 6, in downtown?s Mt. Vernon Square, at the foot of the Washington Monument. The show starts at 5:30 p.m.
The Bridge, selected as “Best Band” by City Paper readers in the paper?s 2005 Best of Baltimore poll, mixes fun, inventive songwriting with funk, jazz, folk and bluegrass stylings.
Since the late 90s Donegal X Press has been pumping a healthy dose of rock into their Celtic traditionals and originals. WTMD listeners will recognize DXP from their memorable song ?Devil in the Bottle.?
Smooth Kentucky is a local bluegrass quintet featuring banjo, mandolin, dobro, stand up bass, a fiddler and good old fashioned guitar. With catchy songs such as ?Blue Eyed Georgia,? Smooth Kentucky is traditional and just plain fun.
Food and beverages are available, so bring a blanket or some lawn chairs, look for the monument, and catch the final First Thursday Concert of the 2005 season.
