Further discussion of School of Emerging Technologies proposal, moving toward a motion.

10/11-24 By-law change to give the Provost the classification of ex-officio non-voting member of the Senate Executive Committee (Senate Executive Committee)

10/11-25 Discussion has been conducted about term limits for Senate
members. University Senators will be limited to two consecutive
three year terms. (Any Senator currently serving is eligible to be elected to one additional term.) (Senate Executive Committee)

10/11-26 Modification of the University Assessment Council
guidelines for membership (Senate Executive Committee)

10/11-27 Revision to faculty handbook which cites that there should
be learning objectives listed in all course Syllabi (Senate Executive
Committee)

New Business

10/11-28 Dr. Betsy Neville, Chair of Special Education, will
present the outline of a proposed revision to a Special Education
M.Ed. titled The Teacher as Leader In Autism Spectrum
Disorders. (Senate Executive Committee)

Discussion Items

–Change in the by-laws of the Faculty Development and Research
Committee(FDRC) relating to the research committee (Dr.
Kimberly Katz, chair)

–The Graduate Studies Committee task force has completed its review.
Proposed changes to the committee structure.

Information Items

–An informational item on the ESCO Project to be read into the record. This is a campus-wide energy efficiency project in coordination with an Energy Services Contractor (ESCO)designed to reduce the campus?s carbon emissions and to generate cost savings from reduced energy usage.

–There will be significant changes in the MHEC structure and processes. Student Valerie Streets reports that there will probably still be one student per campus on the committee, but many other structural changes are pending.
