2010-11 TIGER WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Game 1 vs. Coppin State

Led by senior guard Simona Petronyte, the Tiger women’s basketball team opens its 2010-11 season on Friday afternoon against local rival Coppin State. Opening tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
Under the direction of Coach Joe Mathews, who begins his 10th year as the Tigers’ leader, Towson is coming off a 15-16 season a year ago and its first postseason appearance since the 1969 season.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are looking to improve on a 10-19 season and are led by Preseason All-MEAC selection Jeanine Manley.
The first 200 fans who come to Friday’s opener will receive a free t-shirt and there will be halftime shootout where one male and one female will win an Under Armour prize pack.
Students, faculty and staff are entitled for free admission with the presentation of a OneCard.
Come out and support the Tigers as they begin the quest to the 2010-11 Colonial Athletic Association championship!!!
