Towson?s Chris Scialo has been named Colonial Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for his medalist performance in leading the Tigers to a seventh place finish in the 24-team field at the Rutgers Invitational Tournament last weekend. The junior from New City, N.Y. (Clarkstown H.S.) put together two sensational rounds that included 10 birdies. Scialo, who topped a field of 127 golfers, opened the tournament with a 3-under par, collegiate career low 68 and then carded a 69 in the final round to take medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 137 (-5). He birdied the first five holes of the tournament to play the entire event under par. As a team the Tigers finished 10 strokes off lead with Seton Hall earning the trophy at Rutgers. Towson is back in action this Friday and Saturday when the Tigers travel to Bethpage, N.Y. for The McLaughlin Invitational.
