This Saturday, May 3, is the annual Black & Gold Spring Football Festival at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Gates open at 11 a.m., and admission and parking are free. The game concludes a month of spring practices in preparation for the upcoming 2008 season which begins on August 30 against Navy in Annapolis. The season opener will be the first time Towson has ever played a Football Bowl Subdivision (I-A) program. The Tigers will play a 12-game schedule in 2008 which includes six Saturday home games at ?The U.?
Included in Saturday?s activities are the scrimmage, a chance to personally hand pick your seat for the 2008 season, a family fun zone on the field for kids of ages, a post-game autograph session with the team and a pig roast catered by Andy Nelson’s BBQ. All the activities are free of charge, but tickets for the all-you-can-eat pig roast are $30 for adults, $15 for kids aged 6-12 and kids 5 and under are free. The pig roast begins when the gates open at 11 a.m. and will continue throughout the game. For more information on the pig roast, contact Leslie Joyce at 410-704-2962.
Both the pig roast and the fan zone will occur close to the action right down on the field in the east end zone. The fan zone will include inflatables, football activities for kids, face painting, a chance to get a photo in an official Towson uniform and autographs with the team. Tiger fans can also buy official 2008 Towson Football schedule t-shirts for just $5.

Season tickets are on sale now for only $50 for adults and $30 for kids 17 and under. Towson University Faculty & Staff can purchase season tickets at a discounted special price of just $30. Faculty & Staff are eligible to purchase up to four tickets at this price.
Last season the Tigers packed in the fans at Johnny Unitas Stadium, achieving three of the top seven crowds in stadium history.
