TOWSON ATHLETICS: Tigers Celebrate Alumni Saturday and Sunday

Towson athletics has several athletic events going on this weekend with a focus on alumni at each event.

Saturday, April 26, starting a 1 p.m., there are two events happening on campus. At Unitas Stadium, the men’s lacrosse team will be playing their final home of the season against Penn. At halftime, the Tigers will conclude the celebration of their 50th season of lacrosse by honoring the members of the All-Time Tiger team at halftime on the field. Following the game the All-Time Tiger team members will be signing commemorative posters for fans.

Meanwhile, on the other side of campus at the same time, the baseball team is hosting the Tribe of William and Mary in an important three game series. Before the game, Bob Ziegler, coach of the 1978 NCAA tournament Tiger baseball team will throw out the first pitch. Members of the 1978 and the 1988 NCAA tournament teams will be recognized. Following the game a reception and dinner will be held for all baseball alumni in the Minnegan Room of the Field House.

On Sunday, April 27 at 1:00, the men’s soccer alumn are taking on current soccer team members in the their annual alumni game. Following the game, they will tailgate on the Tiger Terrace in the Field House.

So spread the word and make Towson University the place to be this weekend. Tickets to the lacrosse game can be bought at the stadium starting one hour prior to game time while admission to the baseball game is free.
