This week is being touted as ?Black & Gold Week? for Towson University Athletics, as the Tigers have one of the busiest stretches of the school year February 13-17 with five straight days of home athletic events. The stretch includes two televised men?s basketball games, two key CAA women?s basketball games and the biggest home gymnastics meet of the season sandwiched in between the hoops games. All the events will take place in the Towson Center Arena.
A run down of the events and promotions on each day are as follows:
Wednesday, February 13
MBB vs. George Mason, 9 p.m.
Game is presented by STA Travel
●The week tips off on Wednesday night with a special 9 p.m. tip-off vs.
CAA rival and NCAA Final Four participant George Mason in a game
televised on MASN.
●As part of the ?Black Out? campaign, fans are encouraged to wear black
to the game.
●It will be the annual Student Fan Appreciation game with special
giveaways and contests for students. Don?t miss your opportunity to win
an Xbox 360, Digital Camera Package, Tiger Prize Pack, or be one of
four separate winners who will receive $100 in retail points.
●Two lucky TU Students will each walk away with a $250 voucher from STA
Travel that can be used towards Spring Break ’08.
●The first 500 fans will receive a special Towson Tiger giveaway, a
limited edition Tiger-logo pillowcase as part of our ?Late Night at the
Towson Center? promotion.
●Contortionist Shelly Guy will perform at halftime.
●Post-game performance by Towson student dance group, the Groove Crew
●Performance by nine-time national champion TU Dance Team
●98 Rock will giveaway a special Valentine?s Day weekend ski getaway for
two in the Poconos.
Thursday, February 14
WBB vs. Hofstra, 7 p.m.
●The women’s basketball team hosts Hofstra at 7 p.m. in a critical CAA game.
●Special Valentine?s Day-themed promotional contest at halftime
Friday, February 15
Gymnastics, 7 p.m.
●On Friday, the gymnastics squad hosts the annual Shelly Calloway
Invitational at 7 p.m. featuring teams from Cornell, Penn, Ursinus and
Temple.
●It?s one our Towson Alumni Discount Days. Towson alumni can purchase
tickets for this event for the discounted price of only $2 (normal game
day price is $5) by showing their TU alumni ID card.
Saturday, February 15
MBB vs. William & Mary, 4 p.m.
●On Saturday, the men’s basketball team is back in action against
another of the CAA’s top squads, William & Mary. William & Mary is tied
for second in the CAA (with George Mason) with a 9-3 record.
●The 4 p.m. game is the CAA Game of the Week and will be televised by
Comcast SportsNet.
●Fans are encouraged to wear Gold as part of the “Gold Rush” Saturday
promotion.
●TU will pass out 1,500 Towson Basketball shirts for the TV audience.
●Radio station 100.7 FM The Bay will be on hand to hold a pre-game
Guitar Hero contest.
●It?s Kid?s Day. As part of the NCAA?s Take a Kid to a Game Promotion,
kids 12 and under who wear a jersey or uniform shirt get in for FREE.
●The annual amusing Mascot Game will be played at halftime featuring
many of Baltimore?s favorite characters.
●It?s one our Towson Alumni Discount Days. Towson alumni can purchase
tickets for this event for the discounted price of only $5 (normal game

●It?s one our Senior Citizen Discount Days. Fans aged 55 and older can
purchase tickets for this event for the discounted price of only $5

Sunday, February 17
WBB vs. Old Dominion, 2 p.m.
●On Sunday, the women’s basketball team faces CAA power, No. 13-ranked
Old Dominion in a 2 p.m. game.
●Towson Athletics will be raising money for breast cancer research as
part of a “Think Pink” national campaign and will be working to set the
Towson single-game attendance record!
●Towson will donate $1 from every ticket sold to the local chapter of
the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
●Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.
●Fans will receive a pink breast cancer ribbon.
●The Towson men?s and women?s basketball teams and coaches, along with
corporate partner Jiffy Lube, will sponsor a free, pre-game youth
basketball clinic.
