Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum Presents RFID Technology

Please join fellow CIO Forum members and invited guests at 8 a.m. on April 20 where the featured topic of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum meeting will be Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). RFID is an intrinsic force in a significant transformation that is occurring in the global supply chain. While large corporations have been early innovators, more and more companies are starting to venture into RFID. Hear how early implementations are doing.

Carolyn Walton, Vice President – Information Systems, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. will speak on “Enabling the Real Time Supply Chain Through The Use of RFID”. She will address how to improve on shelf availability by the use of a standards based, RFID approach. It has been three short years since Wal-Mart invited its top suppliers to join them to use RFID. Carolyn Walton will share how Wal-Mart was able to take the technology from the ‘lab’ to the real world and deliver positive impacts, including, reducing Out of Stocks.

Brian Millsap, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Hampton Products International Corporation, will discuss the successful experience with RFID by Hampton Products. Learn how a company, which chose to be an early adopter, approached the implementation of RFID into its business.
