Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum awards outreach grant, Baltimore City high schools to benefit

The Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum has recently funded an outreach grant to benefit Baltimore City High Schools (Digital Harbor High School, City High School and MERVO High School).

The grant will expand the placement of a graduate student and undergraduate students for tutoring and testing at Baltimore City High Schools in the area of Math and Technology (including technical writing). Towson University has met with the principal?s and several teachers from three city high schools and has their support and interest in this project. Digital Harbor High School, City High School and MERVO High School are the three targeted schools. The project will also incorporate student workshops related to math and technology.

The project focuses on testing and tutoring in STEM areas and is an effort to provide additional support to Digital Harbor students, City High School Students and MERVO High School Students, particularly juniors and seniors, as they prepare for college. Tutoring is provided particularly to freshmen and sophomores as they prepare for the High School Assessment Exam at the end of the academic school year.
