The east entrance to Towsontown garage will permanently reopen to traffic on or around August 20, 2008. At the same time, the east-west portion of University Avenue will be closed to complete the conversion of the former traffic bridge into a pedestrian bridge. It is expected that the completion will take between two and three days, and be finished on or around Friday, August 22. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area will be impacted by the work.
We will also begin construction on the northwest corner of lot 7a behind Ward Hall this week. The work will prevent through traffic from University Ave behind Ward Hall to the Residence Tower for early move- in. Access to the Residence Tower will only be available from the new garage access road. The work is scheduled to be complete by Thursday, August 28. It will bring four new spaces to the area to accommodate early move-in.
