As we prepare for the start of the fall 2008 semester, please be mindful of the move-in parking procedures listed below.
? Move-in dates are:
o Thursday, August 28, 9 a.m. ? 5 p.m. for new freshmen only.
o Saturday, August 30, 9 a.m. ? 5 p.m. for returning students.
o Sunday, August 31, 9 a.m. ? 5 p.m. for returning students.
During these times, approximately half of the Union Garage faculty/staff area will be used for vehicle staging while waiting to unload. There will also be increased traffic and police controls at Glen Towers, Cross Campus Drive, the North Campus residence halls and West Village residence halls. Please follow posted signage and staff.
? Please understand there will be increased pedestrian traffic near and around the residence halls as students unload their belongings. Exercise caution. During the peak times, the Police Department and Parking and Transportation Services will provide staff to direct and manage traffic flow.
? Residents moving in should follow the direction of police officers to learn where to park while unloading their vehicles. In areas not being controlled by Police, residents must be parked in a legal, non-reserved space. Free 20-minute loading/unloading meters and designated ?move-in? spaces are also located near many residence halls.
? At no time may any vehicle be left unattended in a roadway or fire lane, or be parked in a handicapped or otherwise reserved space without the appropriate permits. For the safety of our campus, illegally parked vehicles may be cited and towed at the owner?s expense.
Additional parking is available in the commuter areas of the Union Garage and the Towsontown Garage during this time.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation. For more information, please visit the Parking and Transportation Services Web site at {http://parking.towson.edu} or call 410-704-PARK.
