SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK

Microsoft Excel 2007: Add and Use the Camera Tool Icon:
There is a little known, but helpful tool in Excel called the Camera tool. This tool enables you to capture a live picture of a range of cells and other objects that updates dynamically while the data in that range updates. However, the Camera tool is not located on the Ribbon, but can be added to your Quick Access Toolbar.
Add the Camera Tool to the Quick Access Toolbar:
1. Right-click the Office button or the Quick Access Toolbar in the upper-left corner of Excel 2007.
2. Select Customize Quick Access Toolbar? The Excel Options dialog box displays.
3. In the Choose Commands From drop-down list, select All Commands.
4. Scroll down the listing of commands and select Camera; double-click to add it to Quick Access Toolbar.
5. Click OK to close the Excel Options dialog box. The Camera tool icon has been added to the end of your Quick Access Toolbar and is ready for use.
Use the Camera Tool Icon:
1. Select the desired cell range containing the information you want to capture. Note: this range may include cells, charts, and other objects.
2. Click the Camera tool icon on the Quick Access Toolbar.
3. Select a new location within the worksheet or on a different worksheet, and click the location where you want the picture to be placed. Excel ?pastes? a dynamic picture which updates automatically when the source data is modified. Note: there?s no need to click the Paste button.
