To promote seatbelt awareness and the safety of the campus community, the Towson University Police Department will conduct a seat belt checkpoint Monday, May 19, 2008. The checkpoint will be conducted in lot 11 adjacent to the Union Parking Garage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Officers will observe the seat belt usage of all occupants in vehicles entering the checkpoint. Educational literature will be distributed and citations will be issued for observed violations. All motor vehicle operators entering and exiting the parking lot and garage should be alert and obey the traffic commands given by police officers at the checkpoint.
